We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team at Graphcore Ltd. Your contributions will be crucial in driving the development of our next-generation products! The Team Our Driver QA team focuses on verifying and validating low-level kernel drivers, user space libraries, and platform tools. We work closely with different development groups to cover tests from component levels through user acceptance and systems. Our responsibilities include hardware and firmware at the lower stack levels, along with the ML stack, Kubernetes, and cloud management teams at the higher levels. This teamwork encourages ongoing learning and innovation. Responsibilities Act as a technical authority in crafting test features and contributing to the test infrastructure to ensure scalability and reproducibility. Build, implement, and complete high-quality tests to maintain a high-quality gate for production code. Take ownership of technically challenging areas, ensuring near 100% coverage. Perform initial triage and debugging of bugs using hardware and software debuggers and simulators/emulators. Review and improve code, build, and implementation processes across the team. Work closely with both lower and upper stack teams to grasp use-cases and guarantee all requirements are fulfilled. Develop acceptance tests covering use-cases across teams using our drivers. Convey intricate technical ideas clearly to both expert and non-expert audiences. Ensure correctness, robustness, security, and maintainability of our solutions. Contribute to improvements in validation frameworks, CI/CD systems, automated testing, and packaging. Drive root-cause investigations and long-term corrective actions for all incoming issues. Mentor junior engineers, raising quality and coding standards through mentorship and established guidelines. Requirements 10+ years of industry experience in validating Linux kernels and/or device drivers. Proficiency in test development using C++ and Python. Experience with CI/CD, build tools, and modern testing practices. Proven ability to work in an agile environment, delivering complex solutions at pace. Outstanding problem-solving skills and a track record of tackling complex cross-layer issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to detail technical concepts clearly. Differentiators Experience with server-class systems. Familiarity with Qemu or similar emulator environments. Experience with Kubernetes or OpenStack.
